BIOGRAPHY
Franz Amann was only 20 years old when he made his concert debut as a soloist with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra playing Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations. Prior to that, Fournier’s student had won first prize at the federal selection of the German Music Association, to name only one.
Today, the longtime solo cellist of the Bavarian State Orchestra is an internationally sought-after soloist and chamber musician.
He founded the Dvorak-Trio München, the Münchner Klavierquartett and the string quartet Maggini-Trio.
He is booked for concerts, radio and TV performances at festivals such as the Ansbach Bach Festival, the European Music Festival Stuttgart, the Saar Music Festival, the music festivals in Otaru (Japan) and in Lathi (Finland), as well as for extensive concert tours through Japan. In addition, he teaches master classes.
Franz Amann’s cello playing is documented by numerous record and CD recordings, such as the cello sonatas by Brahms and Beethoven, accompanied by Wolfgang Sawallisch at the piano.
Franz Amann plays a violoncello by Giovanni Grancino from the year 1707. |
