Fritz Schwinghammer studied piano, chamber music and interpretation of lieder in Munich under i.a. Klaus Schilde, Michael Schäfer, Helmut Deutsch and Leonard Hokanson.
He has won awards in competitions in Berlin and Bonn and together with the violinist Christian Ostertag took part in German nationwide "Young Musicians' Concerts".
With singers such as Herrman Prey, Dietrich Henschel and Rainer Trost he regularly appears at leading music festivals.
Fritz Schwinghammer is today one of the leading chamber music and lieder pianists of the younger generation and in addition to his activity as a performer, fulfills a teaching position for piano and lieder interpretation at the Musikhochschule in Munich.
