Pianist Jan Philip Schulze is equally successful as a soloist, a chamber musician and a vocal accompanist. He studied at the Musikhochschule in Munich and at the Tschaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. As a vocal accompanist he was mainly influenced by Helmut Deutsch and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.

At the beginning of his career, he received international prizes in Italy, Spain and South Africa. Thereby he was enabled to perform in most of Europe, giving concerts, among others, in Graz, Strasbourg, Brussels, at the Scala di Milano, at the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg, in Wigmore Hall in London, in Barcelona, at music festivals in Munich, Salzburg and Edinburgh as well as in Japan.

As a chamber musician and a soloist his particular interest is contemporary music. Being the pianist of the Munich Ensemble TrioLog he has premiered many compositions at important festivals in Odessa, Zagreb, Berlin and Madrid.

Jan Philip Schulze is Professor for vocal accompaniment at the Hannover University of Music, Drama and Media and an instructor much in demand at international master classes.
